World Hepatitis Day is observed every year on the 28th of July to make the masses aware about the ills of viral hepatitis.

According to WHO, hepatitis is the root cause of liver cancer, resulting in nearly 1.35 million deaths per year. Thanks to the efforts of United Nations, World Hepatitis Day has now become a global day of action, bringing together medical experts, research scholars and patients to raise awareness about the deadly disease, enable its prevention and improve access to medical aid and care.
