WAVE of humanity: Blood Donation Camp at WAVE City

WAVE of humanity: Blood Donation Camp at WAVE City

WAVE of humanity: Blood Donation Camp at WAVE CityWe make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.’ – Winston Churchill

Blood, as we know, is the life-maintaining fluid that gives life and helps in healthy growth of human body. It cannot be manufactured and hence, can only be passed on from one person to the other, when need be. It is a gift that saves lives and is irreplaceable. To top it all, blood as whole and as well as its individual components: Red Blood cells, White Blood cells and Plasma have their own importance and required at different point and time. Everybody is somebody’s blood type in this world, blood groups – A, B, AB and O (positive / negative) and you never know when it is required in someone’s dire need. We thought, it’s better to make that first move and transfer the message to others to join us in an effort to transform lives through blood donation as The Ponty Chadha Foundation organised its blood donation camp at WAVE City on 31st July.

Be Considerate, Be a Donor

If you are young, you are eligible for donating blood at least 25 times in a lifetime. A pint of blood can be helpful in saving lives of at least three people. Apart from that, blood donors help those who go through pregnancy complications, accidental injuries and cancer etc. We urge you to do not waste time and utilize the opportunity to feel valued and worthy of giving life to the ailing. You can do it any way and it does not matter if your donation is directed or autologous (obtained from the same individual), homologous (someone having the close relation) or as a replacement donor.

Types May Vary But Your Blood Group Needs You

There are times when your blood can be used as a replacement in a receiver’s body resulting into a hybrid of two. The type of donation varies with different kinds of blood group. This is because if there are 38 percent people belonging to the O Positive group, only 1 percent population constitutes the AB negative. If 34 percent people comprise of the A Positive, just 2 percent belong to the B Negative group but all of them need your blood. With such scarce chances of matching the same blood type, often it is seen that in India, in lot of cases the treatments are delayed resulting in fatal consequences.
So, gift blood for somebody’s life. As a lifesaver you are equivalent to a doctor and receive blessings of many unknown people.

A PCF-Rotary Club Joint Initiative

The Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF) – CSR wing of the WAVE group, collaborated for a joint effort with the Rotary Club (Central Delhi) on 31st July at WAVE City, Ghaziabad, where 28 people volunteered to donate their blood. The camp was open to public from 09:00 am onwards.
We always say, donate blood and join this humanitarian drive to support blood bank for the needy who may suffer from issues like Thalassaemia, Anaemia and Haemophilia; as for them, blood is the only cure. Ponty Chadha Foundation feels great pride and honour in associating with Rotary Club of Delhi Central to organize a ‘Blood Donation Camp’ on this fun & pride filled Sunday.

See you, next time too! Here, we would like to put an example: A person named James Harrison has donated his blood more than 1,000 times till now saving over two million unborn babies from the Rhesus disease. So, you see, you do not have to become a doctor for saving lives.

We plan to organise many such camps, so join us in this noble cause and help us to reach out the needy. For, giving blood is like giving new life to someone…

ALWAYS REMEMBER: Donate blood. Give hope. Save a life.
