PCF Story

Ever since its inception in 1963, the WAVE Group has been spreading its wings to almost all domains of business starting from sugar manufacturing, distilleries, paper manufacturing, real estate, malls & multiplexes to spirits, liquor retail & distribution, sports and entertainment. An integral belief of the Wave Group is to give back and empower the society through its CSR arm The Ponty Chadha Foundation. The Foundation has been initiated by Mrs. Jatinder Kaur Chadha in September 2014, in the memory of her late husband, the erstwhile visionary chairman of the WAVE Group; Mr. Ponty Chadha, who was working for the welfare and rehabilitation of children with Special Needs, since 1999 through Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan. The CSR activities that are currently addressed by the Foundation are hunger and food security, community health, education and skill training, sports for children and cooperate employees, and awareness drives.

The Ponty Chadha Foundation – Who We Are

The Ponty Chadha Foundation undertakes a plethora of socially responsible activities keeping in line with its belief to give back to society and care for people. Providing rehabilitation services for the people with disabilities under its most admirable initiative-MBCN as it has changed the lives of more than thousands of students in past 20 years of service. As part of its initiatives, the Ponty Chadha Foundation sets up medical camps regularly to conduct free tests and check-ups. It has also recently joined hands with India Food Banking Network (IFBN) to provide essential food grains to the lesser privileged in Noida and Ghaziabad, through the Uttar Pradesh Chapter. India Food Banking Network is part of the Food Security Foundation India – a national pioneering hunger relief programme started by Aidmatrix Foundation and Cargill India.

What WE DO

The Ponty Chadha Foundation works in an array of directions to bring a revolutionary change in the overall ecosystem of the society. Be it education, healthcare, nutrition or security, our anxious efforts to embrace every sector is backed with the sole objective of fostering a better tomorrow for the underprivileged which encompasses infants, children, farmers, women, youth and elderly. Here is the crux of what we do:

1. Rehabilitation Services for the People with Disabilities
Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN) is an initiative of the Ponty Chadha Foundation in laying a base for the training and rehabilitation of the differently abled children. The NOIDA based institution is the largest of its kind in Asia with more than 500 children enrolled in the school, and is providing highest standard of rehabilitation services absolutely free of cost.

2. Running the Skills Academy : The academy has been established in Dasna, Ghaziabad with the aim to boost the hidden potential of Rural youth, especially those coming from less privileged families, and hone them with requisite skills as well as suitable employment. The institution started providing short term skills training to young men from remote areas falling in the 18-35 age group.

3. Organizing Health Camps
With the belief that every individual of the society, whether rich or poor, has a right to a healthy life, the Ponty Chadha Foundation conducts health camps in several rural areas of Ghaziabad in association with Dr. Ram Saran Garg (Indo German) Hospital.

4. Initiating Rural Sanitation Awareness
To spread the awareness for basic hygiene in villages, the Ponty Chadha Foundation will use channels like hoardings, billboards, pamphlets, banners mass meetings and household contact drives for safe sanitation campaigns in selected areas of Noida and Ghaziabad. We will work closely with Government and several NGOs and CSR organizations to promote rural sanitation.

5. Supporting Skills & Placements
The Foundation will soon open an academy building employable skills for unemployed youth from rural India in specialized sectors and make them professional qualified in the same. We constantly seek government and private sector funding and continuously strive to tie-up with various organizations to create employment opportunities for the trained candidates.
