PCF Monthly Health Camps to Reduce Medicine Use

PCF Health Check-up at Inayatpur“The greatest medicine of all is to teach people how not to need it”.  – Benjamin Franklin

Drawing from this belief, Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF) decided to act and become an intermediary in enabling access to better quality healthcare for unprivileged people. PCF reaches out to the marginalised sections of society residing in the rural areas by offering them a better standard of living through its healthcare initiative.

Reaching the Unreached

This month, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing of WAVE Group organised a free-of-cost diagnostic health camp in Inayatpur Village of Block Razapur, Ghaziabad. The check-ups were conducted as per the given schedule that follows under the CSR initiatives of PCF. Through this camp particularly, it reached out to almost 137 people staying in the area.

PCF put up its medical check-up facility at Inayatpur that is home to almost 1200-1500 families who have adopted farming as their main occupation. Though, any prevalence of a severe ailment was not found in the region, there were cases heard of anaemia and problems of skin and gynaecology arose. The health facility was extended age-wise to around 30 adults and 40 minors and gender-wise to 67 females.

Visit for Check-Ups, Medicines and Referrals

There were two doctors present at the venue dedicated to the health diagnosis of the village residents. The check-ups were carried out by seasoned medical practitioners from Dr. Ram Saran Garg Indo-German Hospital that joined hands with PCF for the welfare initiative. The motto was not only to offer medical aid to the needy but also to ensure free-of-cost medicines for prompt treatment of the ailing.

Referrals are provided for the individuals going through severe disorders and those who need immediate expert advice from the hospital. Not just this, our co-ordinating medical experts also advised them to practice high standards of personal hygiene in their day-to-day lives for a healthy living. The directions incorporated maintaining cleanliness by washing hands regularly, taking bath, wearing clean clothes and keeping their own houses and surroundings clean.

Going Back to the Roots

We extended a helping hand to people undergoing health issues at the grassroots by putting up temporary healthcare centres in the inaccessible and remote areas. Till now, we have treated many patients successfully at the mobile diagnostic centres organised across the country and will continue to do so in future. PCF takes an inclusive approach to cover children, women and elderly in its ambit who could not afford or receive proper medical attention.

Speaking on the occasion, the PCF head said that such types of camps are generally set-up with a purpose of serving the poor and the unreached families in the project villages of WAVE City and Sun City.
