The Ponty Chadha Foundation free eye camps touch lives of patients in small cities. One section of the society that often does not get enough and proper medical facilities is the population in rural and small cities. With an aim to bring in proper and quality eye care facilities to the needy section of the society who otherwise cannot afford the same, The Ponty Chadha Foundation organizes free eye camps in Mumbai and Thane. The beneficiaries include the elderly belonging to the lower economic strata in particular. These surgeries have remarkably changed their quality of lives, making them self dependent and have helped them earn a living or manage their daily routine independently.

Free Eye Checkup by Ponty Chadha Foundation The health of low-income families is frequently compromised by difficulty in accessing a balanced diet and clean water for drinking and hygiene purposes. Moreover, many curable diseases like cataract are left untreated for prolonged periods due to lack of easy access to affordable medical services. The Ponty Chadha Foundation understands the need of urgent treatment and takes the lead in providing free and good quality eye surgery facilities to people in need, not only in metros, but also in smaller cities. In the camps, the patients first register themselves at the camp and then receive a free eye check-up from eye specialists. A selected group of patients with cataract are operated free of cost in the Tara Eye Hospital, Mumbai. Set up by Mrs. Jatinder Kaur Chadha, wife of the Late Mr. Ponty Chadha, these free eye camps and treatments were part of the efforts to channelize the group’s capabilities towards social welfare and economic development of the related communities. Keeping the tradition alive, The Ponty Chadha Foundation organizes free eye camps from time to time.
