PCF Health Camp in Gujjar Garhi

PCF Health Camp in Gujjar Garhi“The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.” – Thomas Edison
Taking a leaf from ‘prevention is better than cure’, the Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF) believes that human illnesses can be cured best through awareness. It is high time we started thinking about killing diseases through better nutrition and hygiene as opposed to excessive medicine consumption.

The Concern
Encouraging people to stay in shape and keep ailments at bay, PCF reached the village of Gujjar Garhi in Ghaziabad. A small hamlet with a population of 200 to 250 residents, Gujjar Garhi is majorly plagued with skin-related issues. To resolve the problem, PCF organised a monthly health check-up camp in the village on the 14th of September. Held in collaboration with Dr. Ram Saran Garg Indo-German Hospital, the camp was presided over by two experienced doctors from the hospital.

The Resolution
The two doctors treated all 137 village residents for problems related to skin, gynecology and anemia. In all, they offered diagnosis to 60 adults and 30 children. Nearly 47 women turned up as well, seeking medical help regarding their specific concerns. Apart from diagnosis, the doctors went out of their way to offer their services to all inhabitants of the village by educating them with their invaluable medical acumen.

The Advice
Our doctors gathered the village community around to advise them on safe and best hygiene practices. Through a series of detailed instructions, they asked everyone to maintain the highest possible standards of hygiene, from washing hands and wearing clean clothes to keeping their houses and surrounding areas clean. For a more personal approach, they even interacted individually with villagers to make them acquainted with the importance of good health and preventive measures.

Good Health is our Corporate Social Responsibility
As a part of its corporate social responsibility, PCF conducts such health camps every month and gives away free medicine to people living in remote areas, especially to those who cannot afford proper treatment. Besides, every case that seems extreme or severe is promptly referred to the main hospital, thus benefiting the ones who need it most.
